Life in Wellsboro
1960-2000

Gale Largey is now serving as an advisor on a third volume in his Life in Wellsboro series, continuing the story of the community from 1960 through 2000. Like the earlier volumes, the new book will tell that story largely through photographs — the people, places, celebrations, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods and everyday moments that made Wellsboro home.

This time, many of those photographs will come from the community itself. The history of Wellsboro is already in family photo albums, boxes of snapshots, 35mm slides and the memories of the people who lived it. Residents, former residents and families are invited to share photographs, names and stories that can help preserve what life in Wellsboro was really like during the decades that ended over 25 years ago.
